Concerts in the Tapiola series start at 7.00 pm, those in the Indie series at 6.30 pm and the After Work concerts at 5.00 pm. Before the Tapiola series concerts, there are pre-concert talks in the main foyer from 6.10 pm to 6.30 pm. You can find more details on each concert’s page.
The Espoo Cultural Centre is open from the morning, and the auditorium doors open half an hour before the concert, but you’ll still have plenty of time to find your seat even if you arrive just five minutes before the concert begins.
The Tapiola Sinfonietta’s home venue is the Espoo Cultural Centre, in the heart of Tapiola, a district renowned for its architecture. Chamber music concerts are held at various venues across the Helsinki metropolitan area.
So that you can relax and focus on the concert, you can leave any extra bags and your coat in the Tapiola Hall cloakroom, which is located straight at the back of the foyer when viewed from the main entrances. The service is free of charge!
Outerwear and larger bags must always be left in the cloakroom for the duration of the concert.

As a season ticket holder, you’ll receive a printed programme booklet before the start of the season.
The pre-concert announcement will be played three times over the foyer’s loudspeakers before the concert begins and during the interval before the concert resumes. There’s no need to panic, as the chime is a reminder that the concert is about to resume, not an order or an alarm. Once you hear the chime, you’ll still have time to finish your drink and use the toilet.
It depends on the concert. Concerts in the Tapiola series have a 20-minute intermission, whilst concerts in the Indie series and the After Work series are performed in one sitting. For concerts outside our regular concert series, it’s always worth checking the details separately on the concert page.
Indeed. Café Molli at the Espoo Cultural Centre is open before the concert and during the intermission. The main foyer’s catering facilities are open on concert evenings. You are welcome to take photos of the concert during the applause, provided you do not use a flash. You can tag us on Instagram @tapiolasinfonietta. Recording audio, taking photos or filming videos during the concerts is strictly prohibited.
Dress however comfortably or formally you like. Only the orchestra members have a dress code, though you’re welcome to take inspiration from it.
More and more people are experiencing adverse reactions to perfumes and various scents. Please bear this in mind at concerts by using scents sparingly.
If you would like to thank a soloist or conductor with flowers, for example, please hand them in to the foyer reception before the concert, and they will be passed on to the performers.
Congested streets, late buses and underground trains, hectic days – there are plenty of good reasons for being late. If you happen to be late, the cloakroom staff will help you. We’ll do our best to get you into the auditorium as soon as possible, but we ask for your understanding as we don’t want to disrupt the concert. Often, this means you won’t be able to take your seat until the intermission.
There is a drop-off point in front of the main entrance to the Cultural Centre. There is a direct pedestrian and lift link to Kulttuuriaukio from level P2 of Tapiola Park. Once inside the hall, please follow the signs for Kulttuuriaukio.
