The Most Terrible Christmas Songs is a tribute to the cruel flip side of Christmas, where mothers’ tears drip into burnt tarts as no one, once again, was happy with their presents. The Most Terrible Christmas Songs offers peer support for those whose hearts hold no Christmas wonderland, but instead a plum curd bowl shattered on the floor. The performance deals with family relationships, parenthood, childhood, child abuse, conflicts between parents and children, relationships, break-ups, abandonment, loneliness, alienation, ageing and mortality.
The performance may feature war, terrorism, weapons, shootings, explosions, colonialism or references to these.
The performance contains references to religion, religious symbols, material that may be interpreted as blasphemy, beliefs relating to death and the afterlife, as well as political, social and moral views with which the audience may strongly disagree.
The performance contains swear words, offensive language, sexual language, derogatory expressions, shouting, arguing, loud noises, sudden changes in volume, darkness, bright lights, potentially flickering lights, smoke, theatrical fog, and sudden and unexpected events.
