Broadway’s brightest stars – Liza Minnelli, Julie Andrews, and Carol Burnett – set the standard, and now it’s Anna-Maija Tuoko and Maria Ylipää’s time to shine!
This dynamic duo of the big stage has created a celebration of song and dance. This dazzling performance takes you to the world of musical theater’s golden age and groundbreaking pop music, where nothing is impossible.
Anna-Maija and Maria perform songs from the musicals Kristina från Duvemåla, Sunset Boulevard, Chicago, The Sound of Music, The Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny, Sweeney Todd, and of course Wicked.
You ask: what more could you possibly want from these divas? They reply: how about a dash of Madonna and Lady Gaga? Yes, the show features renditions of megastar hits like “Like a Prayer” and “Abracadabra,” among others. Hearts will race and the floor will shake!
At the heart of it all is the friendship between Marian and Anna-Maija that began during their student days, and their lightning-fast, affectionate banter is not forgotten in this collaboration either. On stage shine two uninhibited individuals and bright stars, guided by the brilliant choreographer Reija Wäre with her gentle but firm touch. The music is led by Eeva Kontu.

In the concert led by Tapiola Sinfonietta’s Artistic Partner Nicolas Altstaedt, the cello sings the calm of a Bohemian forest, Killmayer’s music flashes images of youth, and Dvořák’s symphony stirs the world.
