Baby let’s dance!
Parties with dancing, whether formal balls or otherwise, have historically been the context for performing a wide variety of music, besides being social gatherings embodying happiness and desires. Centuries ago, society imposed strict rules on ladies and gentlemen coming together at dances. In the Roaring Twenties, dress hems rose to better accommodate the fashionable dances of the day. This made it more difficult to conceal flasks with strong drink during Prohibition, however. Today, raves are equal-opportunity entertainment all over the world. The Tapiola Sinfonietta is arranging a ball at the Old Student House, an elegant time warp where everyone is free to dance as they wish!
