Tapiola Sinfonietta's small ensembles perform in public spaces in Espoo, such as health centers, schools, and hospitals. The orchestra also offers interactive concerts for its sponsored children and schoolchildren, among others.
Tapiola Sinfonietta is one of the first Finnish orchestras to establish audience outreach as part of the orchestra's activities and the musicians' job description. All musicians in the orchestra are involved in audience outreach, and their music reaches all age groups in Espoo, from newborns to the elderly.
The 2025–2026 season will see the launch of a new round of godchild activities in the form of concerts for newborns. These concerts, aimed at expectant parents, will feature live music under the direction of music educators Heidi Tamperi and Elisa Seppänen.
Small ensembles from the orchestra will perform extensively in Espoo's primary and secondary schools as part of the KULPS concert series and in early childhood education through the Kulttuurikurkkaus program. Hospital and care musicians will visit nursing homes, hospitals, and special groups.
A new addition in autumn 2025 was the launch of Muskariparkki, a form of audience engagement linked to the After Work concerts, where children can be brought free of charge to a music play school organized by the Espoo Music Institute during the concert. The content of the play school is partly related to the evening's concert program.
Through audience outreach, Tapiola Sinfonietta's music is played for everyone!
