Marzi Nyman

Marzi Nyman may not represent the most traditional idea of an artistic partner for a classical chamber orchestra. However, his undisputed skills as a guitarist, singer, composer, and arranger are well suited to orchestral music in both classical and lighter genres.

”I have a deep passion for chamber and orchestral music. When the Sinfonietta musicians asked me to be their partner, I had to pinch myself. My feelings had been reciprocated! This partnership is definitely one of the most important honors I have received. The connection with the musicians is extremely important to me, and my dream is that the dialogue between us will deepen and that our concerts will feature a real “band,” of which I have the privilege of being a member. My feeling is this: “The playground is open, welcome!”

During Marzi's partnership, Tapiola Sinfonietta has premiered several of his works, such as the children's concert Avain hukassa (Lost Key), the orchestral work Stimmung/Fearless Beauty, and the Violin Concerto with Antti Tikkanen as soloist. In the 2025/26 season, the orchestra will take up the challenge and Marzi's new Electric Guitar Concerto will be heard at Tapiola Hall.
