Accessibility Statement

The goal of the Tapiola Sinfonietta website is to provide all users with equal opportunities to use the service.

The website partially meets accessibility requirements: most of the content is accessible, but some issues still need to be fixed.

If you notice any accessibility issues, please send your feedback by email to tapiola.sinfonietta@espoo.fi. Your feedback will help us make the site more accessible.

What digital service does the accessibility statement apply to?

This accessibility statement applies to the Tapiola Sinfonietta website https://tapiolasinfonietta.fi and was created on November 20, 2025. The service is subject to the Act on the Provision of Digital Services, which requires public online services to be accessible.

We have assessed the accessibility of the service ourselves. The assessment was carried out in November 2025.

Status of digital service accessibility

The website partially meets accessibility requirements. Most of the content is accessible, but some shortcomings have been identified.

Inaccessible content

The website does not yet fully comply with the requirements.

Notable: Contrast issues and lack of alt text

Unattainable content and its shortcomings

The website has some text areas where the contrast between the text and the background is insufficient. In addition, some images lack alternative text (alt text), which means that the content of the image is not conveyed to screen reader users.

Poor contrast makes it difficult to read text, especially for visually impaired users and those who use devices in bright conditions. The lack of alt text prevents visually impaired users from accessing the content of the image through screen readers, which may result in some of the content being completely inaccessible.

Accessibility criteria (WCAG 2.1) that are not met

1.1.1 Non-textual content. Not all images have alternative text.

1.3.1 Information and relationships. The structure of some menus and forms is not fully accessible with a keyboard or screen reader.

1.4.3 Contrast (minimum). The contrast in some text areas is insufficient.

The reason for these shortcomings is that the site has been redesigned in stages, and not all accessibility requirements have been implemented yet.

Manageable: Challenges of keyboard use

Inaccessible content and its deficiencies

Using the site's menus with just a keyboard is difficult. For example, menu structures do not always open or close correctly when navigating with the tab key.

Accessibility criteria (WCAG 2.1) that are not met

2.1.1 Keyboard

2.4.3 Focus order

2.4.7 Visible focus
