The season’s closing concert presents music from two French ballets abounding in colour: Le festin de l’araignée (The Spider’s Feast) by Albert Roussel and Le Loup (The Wolf) by Henri Dutilleux. The two coincide in the intense Viola Concerto, Illumination composed by Estonian Erkki-Sven Tüür and described by him as “a pilgrimage towards eternal light”. The soloist Lawrence Power is s one of today’s foremost violists, in demand worldwide as a recitalist, concerto soloist and chamber music partner.

About the Venue
The Tapiola Hall is the home of the Tapiola Sinfonietta. It is where the orchestra rehearses and gives most of its concerts. The hall with its elegant birch panelling seats 776.
