In this concert presenting British composers of different generations, Thomas Adès seeks inspiration in music of the French Baroque, and Benjamin Britten in French literature of the same period. Vaughan Williams dedicated his serene Fifth Symphony to Jean Sibelius, whom he admired.

About the Venue

The Tapiola Hall is the home of the Tapiola Sinfonietta. It is where the orchestra rehearses and gives most of its concerts. The hall with its elegant birch panelling seats 776.
